An easy recipe for Sourdough French Toast that is a great way to use up any sourdough bread that has gone slightly stale to make a delicious breakfast!
Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a large, shallow dish (something wide and flat enough to soak 2 slices of bread, like a small casserole dish).
Heat a large, non-stick skillet over medium heat. Grease with a pat of butter.
Working with 2 slices at a time, soak the bread in the egg mixture for 1-2 minutes on each side.
Transfer the soaked slices to the warm skillet and cook uncovered for about 2 minutes on each side, until browned. While one batch is cooking, soak the next two slices of bread in the egg mixture. Repeat until all slices have been soaked and cooked.
Serve immediately while warm with your favorite toppings.
